Details:
Join Conservation Nebraska, the USDA-NRCS, and Community Crops for this free, fun, and educational event! This event will take place at Prairie Pines Farm located at 3000 N 112th St. Lincoln, NE 68527.
This event will discuss the relationship between soil and water, and how land management practices influence that dynamic. Riley Hackbart, a soil scientist with USDA-NRCS, will use the USDA-NRCS Rainfall Simulator and tabletop demonstrations to show this relationship. After these demonstrations, Brach Johnson and Jami Theone will give a presentation on Urban Agriculture and the NRCS!
If you would like, bring a soil sample from your home garden to the event! The NRCS will be bringing their Portable X-Ray Fluorescence Machine to the event which can detect the presence of heavy metals in soil. Please bring your soil sample in a sandwich sized Ziploc bag.
