I'm a professional banjo player and a patient teacher with 40+ years’ experience and a BA in Music Theory from George Washington University. My background is in Bluegrass music, but I’ve performed and recorded in many other styles along the way. I teach all levels of 5-string banjo, and beginning/intermediate acoustic guitar, mandolin and dobro. I also teach music theory, how to play by ear and improvise, and how to jam with other musicians. Here's my rate structure: In-person lessons at The Great Room near Los Gatos, CA: $50.00 for 45 minutes. This rate is negotiable, and I’m open to barter for services, good food, etc. Remote online lessons via Skype or Zoom: $40.00 for 45 minutes. At the student's place, within 25 miles of The Great Room: $75.00 for 45 minutes. At the student's place, farther than 25 miles from The Great Room: Negotiable.
