Details:
Join us for two exciting art workshops designed for ages 15 and up!
In the **Art Class: Stamped Charms**, participants will engage in a three-day metalsmithing workshop, where they will learn to plan and create brass charms. The course will cover techniques using a jeweler's saw and files, exploring metal textures and finishes, and handstamping designs, finishing with patinas and attaching jump rings. All supplies and equipment are provided, taught by artist and educator Chrissy McCurry.
Additionally, we are offering **Art Class: Unlocking Abstraction**, a three-session class focused on abstraction techniques with local painter Victoria Rickards. Though this class has been canceled, it was designed to help participants break free from realism and tap into their abstract creativity through guided exercises and experimentation, inspired by the exhibition "Rodney McMillian: A Son of the Soil."
Both classes aim to inspire creativity and self-expression. For more information on accessibility accommodations, please contact us at 803-799-2810 or info@columbiamuseum.org. Members receive priority registration and discounts.
