Best friends George Beard and Harold Hutchins are imaginative prank-loving fourth graders who spend their time creating comic books starring their favorite superhero: Captain Underpants. When their strict principal, Mr. Krupp, threatens to separate them into different classes, the boys hypnotize him into believing he actually is Captain Underpants — a dimwitted but enthusiastic superhero wearing only underwear and a cape.
As a dangerous villainous scientist named Professor Poopypants plots revenge on laughter and creativity, George, Harold, and Captain Underpants must save their school — and possibly the world.
Based on the bestselling book series by Dav Pilkey, the film combines fast-paced comedy, comic-book style animation, and a celebration of imagination and friendship.
