6th Annual Pop-Up Museum: Locally Made

Join us this July for the Wallace Theater's 6th Annual Pop-Up Museum!
In celebration of the Levelland Centennial, this year's exhibition, Locally Made: A Century of West Texas Creativity (1920s–2020s), explores the creativity, craftsmanship, and ingenuity that have shaped life in Hockley County over the past 100 years.
From handcrafted quilts and family recipes to artwork, toys, clothing, and keepsakes, the exhibit tells the story of our community through the objects people made, used, treasured, and passed down through generations.
Explore four unique exhibit galleries:
Handmade for the Home – Everyday creativity found in kitchens, living rooms, and family traditions.
Making a Living – The tools, trades, and craftsmanship that built West Texas.
Art for Art's Sake – Paintings, photography, sculpture, and creative expression from local artists.
Made for Special Moments – The handmade items that marked life's milestones, celebrations, and cherished memories.
The exhibit and event are presented in partnership with students from Levelland High School, Hockley County 4-H, Hockley County Historical Commission, and *Humanities Texas, highlighting an educational collaboration that brings historical research and community storytelling together in a meaningful way.
Exhibit Highlights:
-Artifacts generously loaned by local families and community members
-Four immersive galleries showcasing a century of West Texas creativity
-Interactive experiences and opportunities to discover the stories behind the objects
-Free admission throughout July
