Basket weaving, including the use of natural materials like gourds, is one of the oldest known crafts, with evidence suggesting its use for food gathering, storage, and transportation of goods. This is an easy basket making class using flat and round colorful reed to create a nice usable basket with a gourd base. You will learn to weave a little bit of three rod wale weave as well as the simple weave with the flat reed. There will be a few choices of colors you may pick from to make your very own basket.
