Discover the vibrant flavors and versatility of tomatoes at "Nourishing the Neighborhood: Taste the Rainbow of Tomatoes." Penn State Extension Master Gardeners will share guidance on selecting varieties, best practices for planting and growing, managing common pests and diseases, and harvesting for peak flavor. An extension health and wellness educator will lead a live bruschetta demonstration, offering a tasting of colorful tomato varieties paired with balsamic vinegars while highlighting simple, healthful ways to enhance fresh produce. Participants will receive a copy of Identifying Diseases of Vegetables and a bottle of balsamic vinegar to take home. This grant-funded program is designed for Lebanon County seniors engaged with the YMCA Community Garden and will also serve as a pickup location for Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program vouchers.
