Details:
Join us for an exciting evening featuring two unique performances: Verdi's opera ‘La Traviata’ and the experimental dance and music production ‘Stories of Spirit and Spirits’. Directed by Douglas Anderson, ‘La Traviata’ transports the classic tale to the 1920s, portraying Violetta as a modern woman reclaiming her life amidst societal constraints. The production will be sung in Italian with English supertitles and conducted by Maestro Filippo Ciabatti. The opening night includes a Prosecco toast post-performance along with a cash bar.
In contrast, ‘Stories of Spirit and Spirits’ is an innovative collaboration by the improvisation ensemble soft rocks, featuring dancers and musicians who embark on a cathartic journey through dance and music, exploring personal and shared histories, mythologies, and social dynamics. Each performance is shaped by chance, inviting audiences to experience evolving narratives rooted in connection and resistance. Directed by Jessie Owens, the production intricately weaves music, movement, and visual elements into a stunning tapestry of stories that changes with every performance.
Don’t miss the chance to partake in these transformative experiences on Saturday, June 13, with a reception following ‘Stories of Spirit and Spirits’ at Main Street Landing. For more information about additional Vermont performances and ticket purchases, visit www.jessieowens.com.
