Art lessons with Heather Ponder

About the Instructor: Heather Ponder is a certified arts instructor, BA, art ed. She has worked extensively in the arts as a private arts instructor, a public school instructor, a graphic designer, and a working artist who frequently can be seen in juried arts shows. For special offerings by the studio she will be joined by Jan Philpot (MA, BA in art ed) and Visual Arts Assistant Sarah Mills (minor in art). Classes: Our classes are NOT craft classes. Instructors are NOT "hobbyists". We seek to educate our students in correct use of media and design, as well as introducing them to concepts and vocabulary of working artists. Students are encouraged to explore a wide range of media and to step out in terms of creativity. This is a professional studio and you can be assured that instruction and commitment is at the level of quality expected of working artists with a background in educating in the arts.
