Laredo Film Society

The Laredo Film Society (LFS) is a non-profit organization founded in 2018 with the mission to empower the local community and educate the public through the exhibition of film and media arts. LFS aims to use film as an artistic, cultural, and educational practice to build community and encourage local creativity. Their vision is accomplished through exhibition, education, and production, showcasing alternative and independent cinema, teaching media production, and collaboratively producing local content. The organization also works to restore the historic Plaza Theater in Laredo and provides a space for creatives through screenings, workshops, and filmmaking support. LFS hosts events like Film Club Friday and mini film festivals, and offers access to their HQ for a daily fee, which includes amenities like coffee and internet.
