Details:
Join us for a combined event tailored for young learners ages 9-17! First, immerse yourself in "Chess for Beginners," where you'll receive a brief lesson covering the basics, including piece movement, chess rules, clock usage, notation, and special moves. Following the instructional segment, you'll have the chance to play against fellow participants. This portion is also strictly first come, first served.
After mastering chess, join our "Homeschool Hangout" to relax, play games, and engage in creative activities with your peers. Enjoy access to tablets, a large digital table, game consoles, and more—all for free! This part of the event is designed for ages 12-17, with eligibility extending to 18 for those currently enrolled in school. Come make new friends and discover exciting challenges in a fun library setting!
