Invasive Removal: Boch Hollow

Join us for a fun-filled day at Blackhand Gorge, featuring an "Invasive Removal" event to help eliminate Japanese Stilt Grass, an invasive plant threatening our local ecosystem. Interested volunteers can register by emailing kayla.bowyer@dnr.ohio.gov or calling (740) 380-8918, with registration ending August 20. Please wear proper outdoor gear, including sturdy shoes and tick prevention.

After the invasive removal, enjoy our "Explore the Gorge Hike," a scenic 1-mile paved trail that explores the area's rich history, industries, and wildlife. This pet-friendly hike will delve into the historical significance of transportation in the area, themed "Boats, Trains, and Trails." The hike begins at the Toboso parking lot, just under 20 minutes from Newark, where you can also find restrooms. Finally, wrap up the evening with a live performance by Dwight Icenhower at Stuart's Opera House, with doors opening at 6:30 pm and music starting at 7:30 pm.
