Details:
Join us for a monthly community volunteer opportunity on the 2nd Saturday of the month from 9 am to 12 pm. Choose between two locations for habitat restoration activities: Senator Rosa Franklin Park or Titlow Park. At Senator Rosa Franklin Park, help beautify and maintain the restoration site, while at Titlow Park, assist in revitalizing habitats for local bird species by planting native vegetation and removing invasive plants.
Both events are open to all ages and abilities, with no prior experience necessary. Tools and training will be provided, and gloves are required. Please dress appropriately for the weather, as the work party will occur rain or shine. Restrooms are available at both parks.
What to bring: a water bottle, a snack, and gardening gloves (spares will be available). At Senator Rosa Franklin Park, meet at the Franklin Elementary School bus entrance off of 12th Street; at Titlow Park, gather at the main parking lot. Free street parking is available near both locations. If you are under 18 and attending without a parent or guardian, please bring a signed Youth Participant Waiver.
For questions, contact Chloe Gronlund, Community and Special Projects Coordinator, at chloe.gronlund@parkstacoma.gov. Register online via MyImpact to participate in these rewarding community events!
