Details:
The Wisconsin Tibetan Language and Cultural School was founded in October of 1999 by the Wisconsin Tibetan Association in Madison and meets every weekend. One of the school's main aims is to preserve and promote Tibetan culture. Wisconsin Tibetan Language and Cultural School is honored to perform at the Lake Geneva Public Library and for the Lake Geneva community.
They will be presenting vibrant traditional dances from three historic regions of Tibet: U-tsang, Kham, and Amdo, which together embody the enduring cultural and geographic unity of the Tibetan homeland. Through the thoughtfully choreographed performances, students bring to life the distinctive rhythms, costumes, and traditional dance steps from each region, transforming the stage into a living expression of heritage, where culture is not only preserved but also gracefully carried forward for future generations and shared with the wider public.
They hope to bring peace and happiness, echo the message of loving-kindness taught by His Holiness the Dalai Lama, and see it continue to flourish in the hearts and lives of younger generations.
Weather permitting, this program will be held outdoors. Please bring a lawn chair!
This program is made possible thanks to a grant from the Center for East Asian Studies at UW-Madison.
