The Historic Temple Theatre, completed in under a year, opened its doors on July 1, 1922, dazzling "monster crowds" with its inaugural film, *Smilin' Through*, accompanied by the Culver-Longworth Orchestra. Following financial tribulations during the Great Depression, it changed ownership in 1935 and underwent significant renovations. After a period of decline, community members revived the theatre, restoring its original splendor. Now a vibrant cultural hub, it hosts movies, performances, and events, enriching the community of Viroqua and surrounding areas.
