Details:
Join us for the 10th annual Snapshot Water Monitoring Day, where local citizen scientists of all ages will gather to collect essential water quality data at 100 sites across Kosciusko, Noble, and Whitley Counties. Participants will monitor various factors such as temperature, oxygen, transparency, bacteria, nitrate, phosphate, and pH levels, creating a comprehensive "snapshot" of the health of our waterways in just one afternoon. This vital data helps identify problem areas and drives action for clean water. The event, hosted by The Watershed Foundation, is supported by partners including the Kosciusko Soil and Water Conservation District, Merry Lea Environmental Learning Center, Lilly Center for Lakes & Streams, and the City of Warsaw. With safe and accessible monitoring sites ranging from wetlands to small ditches, we welcome volunteers of all abilities. Don't miss your chance to be part of this important effort—register by September 1 or learn more about volunteering by emailing caitlin@watershedfoundation.org. Generous sponsorship comes from organizations such as the Lake Tippecanoe Property Owners Association, Barbee Lake Property Owners Association, Lake City Bank, Lakeland Pier and Lift, and the Kosciusko County Community Foundation. Join us in making a difference for clean water!
