This 8-hour continuing education workshop provides an overview of the Gestalt therapy concept of confluence and its relevance to clinical practice. The training will review theoretical definitions of confluence, including its historical development and common ways it may appear in the therapeutic relationship. Participants will examine how confluence can affect boundary awareness, differentiation, and clinical decision making, with attention to recognizing these patterns in both clients and clinicians. The workshop will include brief case examples, guided reflection, and structured discussion to illustrate the material. Content will be presented in a straightforward, didactic format with opportunities for questions. This workshop is intended for clinicians interested in expanding their familiarity with less frequently discussed Gestalt therapy concepts. Presented by: Carol Brockmon is a Clinical Social Work/Therapist, LCSW, and is based out of Elkins Park, Pennsylvania, United States.
