**3D Printer Orientation: The Basics @ STL**
Join us for a comprehensive 3D Printer Orientation, essential for using our in-house Prusa MK3S+ 3D printers. This class is designed for beginners and will teach you how to find, prepare, and print 3D models. Topics covered include sourcing 3D models online, file slicing with Prusa Slicer, and machine operation. Attendees are encouraged to bring their laptops and download Prusa Slicer beforehand, but it is not a requirement. Please note that the class does not cover 3D modeling; for that, consider our CAD for 3D Printing class, which operates independently.
To attend this orientation, you must be a member of either the NE Seattle Tool Library or the Shoreline Tool Library. Classes are available at both locations, and completing one grants access to all our 3D printers. Our sliding scale for class fees aims to make participation accessible, and if you have financial concerns, reach out to us to discuss options.
Children may be allowed to attend with a parent or guardian on a case-by-case basis; please contact us in advance for arrangements. The venue is wheelchair accessible and has an ADA-compliant restroom. While we do not provide interpreters, attendees may bring their own.
For transportation, the venue is accessible via King County Metro Rapid Ride E Line, has bike parking, and offers a car parking lot with ADA accessible spaces. Join us to learn the basics of 3D printing and unlock your creative potential!
