Details:
The Trailhead Ambassador Program offers volunteers a valuable opportunity to promote education and stewardship to protect public lands at two scenic locations: Rachel Lake and Tucquala Meadows. Trainees will learn the importance of responsible recreation and how to mitigate negative impacts on the environment. As a Trailhead Ambassador, you will collaborate with Greenway Staff to greet visitors, answer questions, and educate them about Leave-No-Trace principles, ensuring an enjoyable experience for all.
No prior experience is required; however, participants must be 18 years or older and complete a short online training before volunteering. Remember to bring water, lunch, snacks, extra layers, and sunscreen for your outdoor adventure. The Rachel Lake Trailhead is accessible via a gravel road with minor potholes, while the Tucquala Meadows Trailhead requires high-clearance vehicles due to extensive potholes and a stream crossing. For more details on registration, please visit the Trailhead Ambassador Program webpage or contact august.spires@mtsgreenway.org. Join us in making a positive impact on our beautiful Upper Yakima Basin public lands!
