Zaghareet: Wedding Songs of the Arab World

Join us for "Zaghareet: Wedding Songs of the Arab World," a captivating concert by the Aswat Women’s Ensemble (AWE) at Ashkenaz. Founded in 2012 by Nabila Mango, AWE is the only all-female Arab music group in the U.S., based in the Bay Area. This unique ensemble preserves and celebrates Arabic musical traditions, encompassing classical, folkloric, and contemporary styles while empowering its members through artistic leadership. Directed by violinist Briana Di Mara, the group will present an engaging performance of lively wedding songs from the Arab world, featuring guest artists Salma El Assal and Nicole Maria. Doors open at 7:30 PM, with the show starting at 8 PM. Tickets are $25 in advance, $30 on the day of the show, and a student discount of $15 is available at the door with a valid student ID.
