Ice Age Floods

Join the B Reactor Museum Association for an engaging evening with geologist, author, and photographer Bruce Bjornstad, as he delves into the remarkable story of the Ice Age Floods that transformed the landscape of Eastern Washington. With extensive experience as a former geologist at the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, Bjornstad has dedicated decades to studying the monumental Missoula Floods and their enduring effects on the Columbia Basin. His research and aerial photography have enhanced our understanding of the region's unique geological formations, particularly the stunning Channeled Scablands. Drawing insights from his book, "On the Trail of the Ice Age Floods: A Geological Field Guide to the Mid-Columbia Basin," he will present the science, history, and visual narrative of this extraordinary flood event.
