Details:
This is event is intended to introduce children aged 6 to 11 to Dungeons and Dragons 5th edition. Ms. Alyssa will spend the first thirty minutes going over the rules and familiarizing the children with pre-made characters before running a one-shot to see those rules put into action. Practice math through addition, use creativity to thwart your enemies, and strengthen social skills as you work with your party to save the princess!
Never played D&D before? No problem! Ms. Alyssa will provide dice, character sheets, maps, and pencils (though, of course, you are free to bring in your own dice!). Should you have a character mini (a small 1 inch figurine for those unfamiliar with the term), feel free to bring that along too!
RSVP by emailing aphillips@vicksburglibrary.org, stating parents' name, children's names and ages, and familiarity with the roleplaying system -- this will help Ms. Alyssa prepare for maximum fun. Ms. Alyssa can wrangle up to 10 children and make sure that everyone still has fun. Reservations will be accepted based on the order in which the emails arrive. Parents are welcome to come with their children to observe and assist with math.
