The Johnston Public Library, located in Baxter Springs, Kansas, is housed in a historic building constructed in 1872. Originally intended as a courthouse, it later served as a city hall before becoming a library in 1907, following a bequest from Niles P. Johnston. The library aims to meet the cultural, intellectual, and social needs of its community by providing access to quality materials, services, and programming. It is a member of the Southeast Kansas Library System and is governed by a board of trustees.
