Details:
Join us for the Picnic and Plant-a-thon as we kick off summer at the Library! This exciting event combines a community planting day with a delightful outdoor picnic, featuring live music from Nick Madsen and a chance to enjoy a free sweet treat. Help us enhance the garden beds and planters outside the Library as part of our community beautification project. While some supplies and tools will be provided, we encourage participants to bring their own gardening gear, such as kneeling pads and hand tools. Don't forget hats, sunscreen, and water bottles for this fun outdoor activity!
Meet us in front of the Library to check-in, pick up a Kona Ice voucher for a complimentary 9 oz shaved ice (limited to the first 150 attendees) and grab some Library swag while supplies last. Bring a blanket or chair, pack a picnic lunch, and relax on the lawn at New Lenox Commons during the outdoor concert.
In case of bad weather, Nick's performance will move to Meeting Room AB with limited capacity. Kona Ice will still be available, rain or shine. No registration is required, and this event is part of our “Plant a Seed, Read!” Summer Series, sponsored by The Friends of the Library and The Village of New Lenox. Join us in planting seeds, nourishing minds, and growing connections all summer long!
