Join the Hamilton County Naturalist for a fun-filled outdoor adventure designed for kids ages 4–16! This hands-on program helps connect children with nature through exploration, hiking, fishing, and outdoor learning.
We will meet at the Maple Picnic Shelter to begin the day’s activities.
Activities Include:
Guided Nature Walk
Scavenger Hunt
Fishing at the lake with the Naturalist
Picnic sack lunch with the group
A limited supply of fishing poles and worms will be available, but participants are encouraged to bring their own fishing pole and bait if possible.
Children will also learn how to earn their Junior Naturalist Patch and Certificate through the Iowa County Conservation Board System and Iowa State Parks.
Important Information:
Parents or guardians must stay with their children during the program
Please bring your own sack lunch
