The Connection Center will be hosting a free informational event led by Holly Stroup, author of "How I Learned to Dance in the Rain: Transformed Through the Storms". This event is geared towards amputees and caregivers.
Holly Stroup is an author, speaker, and educator who shares her life experience as a cancer survivor and lower limb amputee to educate and help others.
The event will cover many topics such as:
- Safety information
- Exercise techniques
- Resources available to amputees
- Walking school information
- Diet information for amputees
- How to Desensitize the limb to prepare it for prosthetics
A Prosthetist from Bionic Prosthetics and Orthotics will also be present to share information, help answer questions and concerns, and also give resources.
This event is free to the public and no product will be sold.
