Details:
The Rod & Reel Fishing & Tackle Loaner Program at Presque Isle State Park offers a fantastic opportunity for both novice and returning anglers to enjoy fishing. In partnership with the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission, the American Sportfishing Association, and DCNR, visitors can borrow free fishing rods, reels, and tackle boxes from the Tom Ridge Environmental Center from May 1 to September 30, available daily from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. To participate, one adult must present a valid ID, and equipment is loaned on a first-come-first-served basis. Bait must be provided by anglers, and participants should be familiar with fishing regulations, including having appropriate licenses depending on the fishing area.
Additionally, the park offers guided fishing experiences aboard a pontoon boat on Presque Isle Bay, where all equipment and bait are included. This guided tour is ideal for beginners looking to learn fishing techniques while exploring the area's spring fishery. Accommodations are available for those with disabilities, and advanced notice is required for any specific assistance needs. Enjoy a day of fishing and create lasting memories at Presque Isle State Park!
