Details:
The St. Luke’s parish picnic is a cherished, time-honored tradition. You may have read in the May edition of the Voice, due to a number of factors – coordinating Camp Onyahsa’s increasingly busy camp schedule and the pastoral concerns of moving worship for a Sunday (i.e., parishioners and visitors coming to the church on a Sunday morning to find the building locked) – it was time to change the tradition.
To that end, St. Luke’s will celebrate the parish picnic on Saturday, August 15th at 10 am at Barb and Robert “Doc” Rappole’s farm at 4550 Maple Springs Ellery Rd. This picnic will all the elements we love: shared food, yard games (Zorb balls!), worship, and even full-immersion baptism—and also incorporate beloved elements of St. Luke’s Church of the Wild services, with an informal outdoor Eucharist and time to enjoy the Creator and the beauty of creation.
