The Ponder Heart | A Staged Reading in the Welty Garden

Join us for a special staged reading of selections from Eudora Welty’s "The Ponder Heart" on Saturday, June 13 at noon, presented by the Eudora Welty House & Garden and New Stage Theatre, with special thanks to this year’s Eudora Welty Research Fellow, Arleigh Rodgers.
Enjoy a brief performance of selected scenes from the stage adaptations of Miss Welty’s 1954 novella, followed by a discussion. Guests are also invited to stay for free Welty House tours at 1 and 3 p.m. following the event.
This free program will take place outdoors on the Welty House Front Lawn, is open to the public, and no ticket or RSVP is required. Limited seating will be available, and guests are also encouraged to bring their own chairs and blankets for a picnic. In the event of rain, the reading will move to New Stage Theatre on Fortification Street.
