History Is Lunch: April Holm, "Religion in Reconstruction: Churches and the Unfinished Revolution"

At noon on Wednesday, June 24, April Holm, assistant professor of history and associate director of the Center for Civil War Research at the University of Mississippi, will discuss how churches shaped major evangelical denominations and influenced the relationship between religious institutions and the federal government. Drawing on her book "In A Kingdom Divided: Evangelicals, Loyalty, and Sectionalism in the Civil War Era," Holm will explore the intersections of religion, morality, and politics during a time of national crisis as part of the History Is Lunch series.
