Join us Thursday, July 17—and every Thursday after—for a summer series full of toe-tappin’ tunes, mouthwatering BBQ, and ice-cold brews. Admission? Totally FREE. The fifth artist up on stage this summer is Steve Solkela, the “Overpopulated” One-Man Band! Words can hardly describe this chaotically creative musical multitasker. Using up to 21 instruments (all on his own) in his performances, Steve plays original songs and cover songs about the Iron Range. The accordion, which he started learning in high school, is his specialty. Plus, this event is happening alongside Family Discovery Day: Fossils X3! And, after Steve takes his bow, the Hibbing City Band will be taking the amphitheater stage! Here's the schedule for the afternoon: 3:00pm – Fossils X3! sensory-friendly hour starts (as well as free Museum admission and Food Court service) 4:00pm – Fossils X3! full sensory experience begins 5:00pm – Steve Solkela breaks out his many, many instruments 7:00pm - Steve finishes up & the Hibbing City Band starts in the amphitheater 7:30pm – Fossils X3! ends 8:00pm – The Museum, Food Court and Hibbing City Band in the amphitheater close Come grab your BBQ pork ribs, brisket tacos, and waffle fries (or a vegan sandwich, if that’s how you roll!) and hang out with your friends while dancing along to some very eclectic polka music and learning about fossils.
