Innovation in Motion: Parliamentary Spotlight Forum
A dynamic, half-day educational event designed to explore the practical application of parliamentary procedure in today’s governance environments. Scheduled for Saturday, June 20, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM (CDT), this forum offers 4.5 CEUs and brings together experienced parliamentarians for both instructional sessions and an engaging panel discussion.
The program features three focused presentations addressing key aspects of parliamentary practice:
• Lavon Moore, PRP presents “Boots on the Ground: Building Strong Units,” emphasizing foundational strategies for strengthening organizational structure and engagement.
• Stephanie “Sam” King, MPA, PRP leads “Words That Rule: Crafting Parliamentary Scripts for Effective Meetings,” highlighting the importance of clear, well-constructed language in meeting management.
• Henry Lawton, Jr., PRP explores “Order of Business: Standard or Session Adopted,” examining flexibility and authority in structuring meetings.
The forum culminates in a featured panel, “Parliamentary Procedure in Action: Lessons from the Legal Frontlines,” where experienced parliamentarians with legal backgrounds share real-world cases illustrating how parliamentary procedure intersects with law and governance. Panelists include Michael Taliercio, JD, PRP; Helen McFadden, JD, PRP; Janis Gallagher, JD, RP; and Carolyn Murchison, JD, RP, moderated by Benjamin Cohen, RP, with advisory support from Cassandra Conover, JD, MBA, EdD, RP.
