Details:
Join us for the Saturday Spotlight Program this summer, featuring a series of engaging, hands-on historical demonstrations and activities from June 13 through July 25 (excluding July 4). Each Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., museum staff will bring 19th-century life to life with diverse programs, including themed days such as Dye Day, Black Powder & Drill Day, Grinding Corn, Quilting & Fiber Arts, Homemade Ice Cream, and a tour of the Steamboat House. One highlight will be a special spinning demonstration, showcasing traditional techniques as raw fiber is transformed into yarn using a drop spindle and spinning wheel. Experience the evolution of textile production and learn about the cultural significance of spinning. All activities on the grounds are free with general admission applied for museum visits. Discover something new each week at the Sam Houston Memorial Museum! For more details, check our events calendar [here](www.samhoustonmemorialmuseum.com/events/).
