Hike at Rainbow Mountain Nature Preserve

Join us for a combined event at Rainbow Mountain Nature Preserve and Cane Creek Canyon! Start with a moderate hike lasting 1.5 to 2 hours covering 1.5 miles along the popular Rainbow Loop Trail, with a brief detour to Balance Rock Trail. This scenic preserve, conveniently located just outside downtown Madison, offers a fantastic hike for local outdoor enthusiasts.

Following the hike, lend a helping hand by participating in Trail Care at Cane Creek Canyon. Work alongside Land Stewards to maintain the extensive trail system, tackling various tasks based on trail conditions and the number of volunteers. Expect to hike up to 3 miles with some elevation changes, and remember that no prior experience is needed. Please wear sturdy, closed-toe shoes, and bring water, snacks, and work gloves; extra supplies will be provided.
