Details:
The Texas America250 Exhibit, presented by the Texas State Library and Archives Commission (TSLAC), celebrates 250 years since the Declaration of Independence by highlighting Texas's significant contributions to the nation's development. This exhibit showcases Texas icons and historical moments, from cowboys to astronauts, exemplifying the state's unique role in American history. Visitors of all ages are encouraged to participate in the Texas America250 Reading Challenge and explore additional resources at america250.org.
In a unique collaboration, the exhibit also features "Pulled X 2: handmade paper and prints," showcasing the art of handmade paper through the partnership of eight artisans with fifteen printmakers. With contributions from various states, this part of the exhibit illustrates the beauty and diversity of hand papermaking and printmaking. PrintHouston, a non-profit organization supporting the print community, organizes various initiatives to promote this art form.
