Details:
Keith Berry, a local Earth Science instructor and avid fossil collector, will introduce you to the fascinating geology and paleontology of southern Colorado and northern New Mexico. Focusing primarily on how to identify plant and animal fossils and what these fossils reveal about the ancient landscape, the talk will also address how to recognize the geologic formations of the region.
Activities are rain or shine. The amphitheater is located past the Visitor Center on Carpios Ridge. Follow the signs for the walking trail. These activities are free to the public, however all vehicles are required to have a Park Pass. You can purchase a pass at the Visitor Center or any of our self-serve stations.
