Join us for an in-person information session at the Visitor Center Theater to learn more about the Deering Estate Artist-in-Residence (AIR) program and the application process.
The Deering Estate’s engaging Artist-in-Residence (AIR) program has launched the application for the 2027 season. A call to artists is currently available for visual, literary, performing, and cross-disciplinary arts and artists are invited to apply before the August 31, 2026, 11:59 pm EST deadline. The application is for studio residencies and non-studio project residencies at the Deering Estate, beginning as early as January 1, 2027.

About the Artist-in-Residence (AIR) Program:
The Deering Estate Artist-in-Residence (AIR)Program seeks to continue the legacy of art patronage by supporting artists who work in various disciplines and media, consistent with founder Charles Deering’s vision.
The Deering Estate Artist-in-Residence Program (AIR) supports artists across visual, literary, performing, and cross-disciplinary arts. The program offers opportunities for emerging and mid-career artists willing to explore new bodies of work or practices to create, collaborate, and engage with the Estate’s rich historic, cultural, and natural environment. Established in 2006, The AIR program has hosted over 150 residencies that span a diverse range of contemporary and traditional practices and continues to foster creativity, collaboration, and community engagement in a unique setting.
