Details:
The City of Homestead, in partnership with Global Empowerment Mission (GEM) and Farm Share, will host a Hurricane Preparedness Drive-Thru Distribution on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at Harris Field Park (1034 NE 8th Street, Homestead, FL 33030). The event will begin at 9:00 a.m. and run until 1:00 p.m., or while supplies last, on a first-come, first-served basis.
As part of the City’s ongoing commitment to proactive emergency preparedness, the event will provide Family Necessities Kits to help residents prepare for the 2026 hurricane season. Kits are expected to include essential items such as emergency radios, flashlights, ponchos, blankets, and water, designed to support households during potential storm-related emergencies.
The distribution will follow a drive-thru format, allowing residents to safely remain in their vehicles while receiving supplies.
This event is strictly for City of Homestead residents only. All participants must present a valid photo ID at check-in. Residents should be aware that mailing addresses and zip codes do not determine eligibility—individuals living in Unincorporated Miami-Dade County or Florida City are not eligible, even if their address lists “Homestead.” Additional details on how to verify residency using the City’s official GIS tool will be provided prior to the event.
The City encourages residents to arrive early and review eligibility requirements in advance to ensure a smooth and efficient experience.
For more information about the event, please contact the City of Homestead’s Community Development and Human Services Division at cdhs@homesteadfl.gov or call 305-224-4408
