Why Big Steps?

At Lightbridge Academy, every child is on a journey filled with milestones, growth, and achievements. Some of those ‘Big

Step’ moments are obvious - taking a first step, learning to write their name, or putting on their shoes. Others are

smaller but just as meaningful, like making a new friend, trying something new, building confidence, or learning to be

independent. Big Steps happen every day and look different for every child.

The Big Steps concept helps us recognize and celebrate these moments with families.

As teachers and caregivers, you have the unique opportunity to help parents see the progress their child is making

every day. By intentionally highlighting these moments, we reinforce the value of our Circle of Care and strengthen the

partnership between home and school.
