Pennon Education is dedicated to fostering lifelong learning by connecting educators, families, children, and adults through impactful partnerships, curated resources, educational programming, professional development, and standards-based lesson plans. They collaborate with other Pennon organizations, including WITF, LNP|LancasterOnline, and The Steinman Institute for Civic Engagement, to enhance local education, information literacy, civic engagement, and the arts. Pennon Education actively supports the community by partnering with organizations to meet people where they are and provides professional development for educators. Their 'Explore in the Classroom' program delivers STEM and literacy education aligned with state standards to students in districts with opportunity gaps. Additionally, Pennon Education offers free educational events, summer camps, after-school programs, and hosts the annual Central PA Spelling Bee, which offers a pathway to the Scripps National Spelling Bee. The organization aims to fill educational voids and provide opportunities for students who might not otherwise have them, focusing on career exploration, STEM education, and introducing students to technologies like coding, robotics, and virtual reality. They also provide engaging day camps and 'Kids' Night Out' events with various STEM themes for children.
