Slide into Summer Camp (4th-6th Grade)

Pennon Education is excited to host summer camps with unique experiences that focus on content creation and STEAM – science, technology, engineering, the arts and math – in our Innovation Studio and Digital Creator Studio.
These small-group summer camps are the best way for your camper to engage in STEAM concepts and career exploration through hands-on learning with highly qualified educators and professional content creators!
You don’t have to live in Harrisburg to attend these camps – Slide into Summer Camps are open to all students in Central Pennsylvania who are entering 4th through 6th grade.
Cost: $135/week for half day (morning or afternoon) or $270/week for full day
Campers who are enrolled in both morning and afternoon camps are invited to pack a lunch and remain at the Public Media Center with the teachers during the lunch hour.

Morning: 8:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. | Power Up! Energy in Action!
Get ready to explore the incredible world of energy—the force that lights our homes, moves our communities, and powers the planet! In this action-packed week, campers will dive into how different kinds of energy are created, transferred, and transformed. From electricity and light to heat, sound, motion, and even renewable sources like wind and solar, you’ll discover how energy takes many forms and fuels the world around us. Through hands-on experiments and creative challenges, you’ll see how energy powers real-world systems and devices, then put your knowledge to work by designing and showcasing your own energy-powered inventions. Along the way, you’ll explore how energy is delivered safely and responsibly, how different energy sources impact our environment, and discover simple ways you can make smart, sustainable energy choices too!

Afternoon: 1:00 – 4:30 p.m. | Nature’s Lab: Evolve and Innovate
Did you know living things adapt and evolve over time? Ever wonder how humans and animals have changed to survive in their environments—and how they might keep changing in the future? From camouflaged creatures to human inventions inspired by nature, we’ll explore how life adapts, mimics, and evolves. Discover the past, imagine the future, and uncover how nature’s best ideas shape the world around us! Through hands-on investigations and creative challenges, you’ll uncover how living things survive, change, and inspire new ideas. Explore the secrets of nature’s best problem-solvers and along the way, you’ll see how the wild world—and even humans—adapt, evolve, and innovate!
