Self-Guided Prairie Wildflower Walkabout

Join us for a delightful outdoor experience that combines nature exploration with storytelling during our special summer events! From July 18 to August 2, immerse yourself in the stunning blooms of Pennsylvania’s only managed and protected prairie at the Self-Guided Prairie Wildflower Walkabout at Jennings Environmental Education Center. Discover the intricate connections between plants and wildlife with a free printed or electronic guide, available sunrise to sunset. Prepare for your walk with essentials like water, sunscreen, and bug spray.

Additionally, from July to August, bring your little ones along for the Summer Storybook Stroll featuring “A Chip Off the Old Block.” This self-guided stroll begins at the end of Landis Road, where a paved path leads through the park, allowing families and strollers to enjoy the featured story posted along the way.

Also, don’t miss the Storywalk, where you can read “Thomas Jefferson and the Mammoth Hunt” while walking the serene Watershed trail at Kings Gap Hollow Area.
