Details:
Join us for a Guided Trail Walk at The North Carolina Arboretum from April to October, where you can explore the beauty of our diverse botanical forest. This free hiking program is led by trained volunteer guides and accommodates small groups of up to 15 participants. Discover various woodland trails while learning about seasonal topics such as wildflowers, plant and tree identification, and natural history. Walks are scheduled on Tuesdays at 1 p.m. and Saturdays at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m., lasting 1.5 to 2.5 hours and covering 1 to 2 miles.
Please dress appropriately for the weather, as the walks occur rain or shine, and no pre-registration is required—all participation operates on a first-come, first-served basis with sign-up sheets available at the Baker Visitor Center. Note that the guided walks are not recommended for guests under 16 years of age, although well-behaved leashed pets are welcome; disruptive pets may be asked to leave. While the walks are free, donations to The North Carolina Arboretum Society are appreciated, and regular parking fees apply (free parking for Arboretum Society members). Join us to fully immerse yourself in the natural beauty of the Arboretum's trails!
