Join us for "Gardening with an Ecological Mindset," a two-session course led by Nina Shippen on Wednesdays, August 12 and August 19 from 9:30 AM to 12 PM. This course, part of the BREG Core curriculum, qualifies as an EcoGardening core class and introduces essential ecological theories, research, and models that help cultivate resilient and beautiful landscapes that support diverse ecosystems. Participants will explore advanced topics such as slope gardening, stormwater management, hedgerow creation, invasive species, and the native vs. exotic plant debate.
Nina Shippen, a seasoned landscape designer and owner of Hidden Road Landscape Design in Transylvania County, emphasizes integrating healing garden principles with ecological practices in her work.
