Details:
Join Erin Canter for "Ferns and Friends" at the North Carolina Arboretum on Friday, July 10, from 10 AM to 12:30 PM. This outdoor educational class will delve into the ecology, evolution, and diverse species of ferns in Southern Appalachia. Participants will use hand lenses and nature journaling techniques to observe and identify various fern species around the Arboretum and Bent Creek, guided by field guides. The program will primarily occur outdoors along easy trails and paved walkways, so attendees should dress for the weather and prepare for an immersive outdoor experience.
Erin Canter, a Southern Appalachian Naturalist, will lead this exploration, bringing her expertise from her previous role in ecological education within the Great Smoky Mountains. Members can enjoy a 10% discount upon registration using their promo code, and scholarships are available for those facing financial barriers. For more information, registration, or inquiries, contact adulteducation@ncarboretum.org or visit the website for additional programs. Don't forget to follow us on social media and consider supporting the Arboretum through donations!
