**Event: Building Living Soil with Everest Holmes**
**Date & Time:** Friday, August 7 | 1 – 2:30 PM
**Location:** BREG – Soil Health Core
Join us for an informative and hands-on session led by Everest Holmes, a soil health educator and farmsteader. This class focuses on building soil biology and understanding the components of a soil ecosystem. Participants will examine real living soil samples through images and learn to interpret the findings. Everest will emphasize soil as a living ecosystem and the intricacies of the soil food web, featuring practical demonstrations on aggregate stability and rainwater infiltration.
With 14 years of experience in organic land management on his 10-acre homestead and as the co-founder of GROZOME, Everest applies his extensive knowledge and qualifications—including a B.A. in Outdoor Leadership, Certification as a Permaculture Designer, and Certified Soil Food Web Lab Tech—toward helping students connect with soil health through hands-on learning.
