Details:
Join us as we mark the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence with a special Holy Eucharist using the first American prayer book.
Come to downtown Hendersonville, before the big parade and festivities, and worship our Lord together. Please come as you are and dress comfortably if you plan to be outdoors for the day!
The service will feature an historic liturgy from the late 1700s, hymns, and a stunning organ prelude of Aaron Copland's stirring Fanfare for the Common Man.
Because of our denomination’s close association with the American Revolution, Independence Day is considered a major feast day of the liturgical year and this service honors that history and gives us an opportunity to reflect on our call as Christians living in this land at this particular moment in time.
