Offering of Letters

Hunger is rising, and families here and around the world are feeling the impact. Churches and food pantries are doing all they can, but charitable efforts are not enough. That is why Grace is participating in Bread for the World’s annual Offering of Letters campaign. Bread for the World is an ecumenical, nonpartisan organization that equips people to advocate for policies and programs designed to end hunger in the U.S. and around the world. Advocating for our neighbors by writing letters to our congressional representatives complements Grace’s well-known charitable efforts to feed our hungry neighbors. You are invited to participate by writing or signing letters to our congressional representatives. Pick up sample letters and letter-writing supplies in the hallway near the name tags. Last year we delivered 293 letters. This year we hope for 350 letters, so please invite your friends and family to join us! Letters will be collected and brought to the altar as an offering during worship on June 28. Afterward, they will be hand-delivered to our congressional representatives' local offices.
