Clark County Wetlands Park is a 2,900-acre natural area on the eastern edge of the Las Vegas Valley, serving as a critical habitat for diverse wildlife and a vital resource for public education and recreation. Its mission is to preserve and enhance natural and cultural resources, offering opportunities for scientific study and environmental programs for all ages. The park features a 210-acre Nature Preserve with ponds and streams, extensive trails for walking and biking, and a Nature Center with interactive exhibits. It plays a role in improving local water quality by filtering pollutants from urban runoff and stormwater before it enters Lake Mead. The park hosts various events and provides volunteer opportunities, making it a sanctuary for plants, animals, and people.
