Slide into Summer Camp (4th-6th Grade)

Pennon Education is excited to host summer camps with unique experiences that focus on content creation and STEAM – science, technology, engineering, the arts and math – in our Public Media Center.
These small-group summer camps are the best way for your camper to engage in STEAM concepts and career exploration through hands-on learning with highly qualified educators and professional content creators!
You don’t have to live in Harrisburg to attend these camps – Slide into Summer Camps are open to all students in Central Pennsylvania who are entering 4th through 6th grade.
Cost: $135/week for half day (morning or afternoon) or $270/week for full day.
Campers who are enrolled in both morning and afternoon camps are invited to pack a lunch and remain at the Public Media Center with the teachers during the lunch hour.

Morning: 8:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. | Citizen Science Sleuths
Get ready to step into the shoes of a real-life Data Detective and uncover the hidden mysteries of the world around you! Explore your local environment as you collect clues about weather, water, wildlife, and more. Through hands-on investigations and teamwork, you’ll analyze your findings, solve real-world science puzzles, and see how the data you collect can tell big stories about our planet. By the end of the week, you’ll put your detective skills to the test in a final showcase, sharing your discoveries and proving that anyone can be a citizen scientist!

Afternoon: 1:00 – 4:30 p.m. | Kidpreneur
This hands-on camp is perfect for curious minds who love to build, tinker, and dream big. Campers will explore how everyday things work through fun experiments and creative challenges, then use their knowledge to design and prototype their own inventions. The week wraps up with a mini “Shark Tank” showcase, where young innovators pitch their ideas to a panel of friendly “investors.” It’s the perfect mix of science, creativity, and entrepreneurship—where imagination meets innovation!
